Flower City Down Syndrome Network Scholarship

The Flower City Down Syndrome Network established this scholarship with the Brockport Foundation in the fall of 2025 to recognize an outstanding student demonstrating a commitment to to inclusive education/special education.

Students must:
1. Be accepted into the Childhood Inclusive Education Major, Early Childhood Inclusive Education Major, or Adolescence Inclusive Education Major, in the Department of Education, Languages and Instructional Design, or successor department, and be an undergraduate sophomore or junior at the time of selection. Students at the graduate level may also be considered.
2. Demonstrate academic excellence as judged by the selection committee.
3. Demonstrate a commitment to the career of Inclusive Education/Special Education as judged by the selection committee. Preference will be given to students pursuing certification of Special Education.
4. Submit a letter of recommendation from a non-relative who is in the position to evaluate both academic, personal characteristics, and achievements.

This scholarship will be credited to the recipient’s bill in the form of a non-tuition educational expense grant. It must be used for educational expenses and may not be received as cash.
