Robert C. Schneider Experiential Learning Fund in Sport Management

Dr. Robert C. Schneider, and students past and present, fundraised to establish this fund to support professional development activities for sport management majors at SUNY Brockport. Examples of experiential learning expenses that this fund may be used to support include, but are not exclusive to, purchasing supplies, textbooks, travel (including overseas for internships), or other expenses related to an approved capstone experience. Expenses related to Sport Management coursework may be considered if funds allow and are approved by the Program Coordinator.

Students will need to outline a request for financial assistance by completing and submitting the Robert C. Schneider Experiential Learning Fund application. The application is housed in the Office of
Advancement as part of this agreement or otherwise.

  • The Sport Management Program Coordinator and the Department Chair will review and approve requests prior to the Program Coordinator starting the Fund Request process. A member of the Office of Advancement will be consulted to determine the approval of applications if the Program
  • Coordinator and the Department Chair are not in agreement for any submission.
  • The preferred method of disbursement is reimbursement for expenses directly related to their approved learning experience. Alternatively, the disbursement may be in the form of a non-tuition expense grant that may be used to cover education costs such as room, board, or university fees.
  • There are no restrictions in the number of disbursements, however the collective total annual disbursement amount cannot exceed $1,000 while the fund is designated a temporary restricted fund.
  • The annual timeframe is from July 1 – June 30 of each calendar year.
