Gayle Wallis Catania

Gayle was born in North Bellmore, NY on November 1, 1979. She attended W.C. Mepham High School and graduated in 1997.

After high school, Gayle attended Nassau Community College (1997), SUNY Oneonta (1998), and Molloy College (2000-2004). She graduated with her Bachelor’s Science in Nursing (BSN) in May 2004. Gayle’s passion for nursing led her to Winthrop University Hospital (2004-2006), Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center (2006-2014), and Elmhurst Hospital (2014-2020).

This scholarship serves as one legacy of the positive impact that Gayle provided to all who knew her, and to all who were fortunate to be helped by her through Gayle’s service as a nurse. This scholarship was established by Dr. Martin Abraham and Mrs. Nancy Abraham to support outstanding nursing students in honor of Gayle’s legacy.
