Gayle Wallis-Catania Memorial Nursing Scholarship
This scholarship honors the memory of Gayle Wallis-Catania by recognizing an outstanding student in the Department of Nursing. Eligible students are nursing students in any undergraduate nursing program, who demonstrate academic excellence by possessing a GPA of 3.0 or higher, who demonstrate a commitment to the field of nursing, and who demonstrate a need for financial assistance as judged by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) minus any other awarded scholarships or grants, and as judged by the selection committee. All eligible applications based on the established criteria aforementioned will be considered however, first preference will be provided to students who possess permanent residency in either Nassau or Suffolk County, New York. If there are no eligible applicants from Long Island, eligible applicants with permanent residency within one of the five boroughs of New York City will be considered next.

The financial assistance is in the form of a non-tuition educational expense grant that may be used to cover educational costs such as room, board or college fees. The award will be credited to the recipient’s bill during the semester(s) of the award period. The student must use this award for educational expenses at the College and may not receive the award in cash.
