Paul J. Kronthaler Chemistry Award
Paul J. Kronthaler was a member of the first class of chemistry majors to graduate from SUNY Brockport in 1968. He was killed in action in Vietnam in May 1969. The award in his memory recognizes an outstanding senior-year chemistry major who has demonstrated exceptional performance in terms of academic record, research participation, laboratory assisting, and contributions to the Department’s social and intellectual life. Eligible student candidates must be a departmental graduating senior (84+ credits) during their final year of study, demonstrate academic success as evident by the breath and depth of courses taken at Brockport, extra-curricular activities, and GPA, and contribute to the life of the Department.
This award is selected by the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry and does not accept applications.
The financial assistance is in the form of a check if the recipient is a graduate of SUNY Brockport before the fall semester of the award period. If the recipient is not a graduate by the start of the fall semester of the award period, the financial assistance will be credited to the recipient’s bill during the semester(s) of the award period and the student must use this award for educational expenses at the College.
