R. Mark & Robert M. Fenton Leadership Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Dr. Richard J. and Mrs. Joan S. Fenton in honor of their two sons, R. Mark and Robert M. Fenton. This scholarship recognizes the importance of how extracurricular activities are essential in the development of the whole person and are crucial for one’s future success. Eligible students must be enrolled at SUNY Brockport in any academic program at the undergraduate level, be enrolled with full-time status as a rising sophomore, rising junior, or rising senior, and demonstrate academic achievement with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. The recipient will demonstrate an active record of of extracurricular activities that include student organization(s) involvement, community service, and/or serve in leadership positions on- and off-campus, and demonstrate a commitment and potential for excellence in leadership-based involvement in their campus and community(-ies).

All eligible applicants will be considered based on the established criteria above however, first preference will be provided to applicants who identify with a historically underrepresented group.

The financial assistance is in the form of a educational expense grant that may be used to cover educational costs such as room, board or college fees. The award will be credited to the recipient’s bill during the semester(s) of the award period. The student must use this award for educational expenses at the College and may not receive the award in cash.
