Paul J. Kronthaler Chemistry Award

This fund was established by friends and family of Paul J. Kronthaler to recognize an outstanding senior-year student at SUNY Brockport who is majoring in chemistry. Paul J. Kronthaler was a member of the first class of chemistry majors to graduate from Brockport in 1968. He was killed in action in Vietnam in May 1969. The award in his memory recognizes an outstanding senior-year chemistry major who has demonstrated exceptional performance in terms of academic record, research participation, laboratory assisting, and contributions to the Department’s social and intellectual life.

Eligible students must

  1. Be a graduating senior (84+ credits) in the Department of Chemistry.
  2. Demonstrate academic success as evident by the breadth and depth of courses taken at Brockport, extra-curricular activities, and GPA.
  3. Contribute to the life of the Department as determined by the review committee.

This is a cash award for graduating seniors. If the recipient is not graduating in May, the scholarship will be credited to their bill in the form of a non-tuition educational expense grant.
