Family of Michael Cavalcanti Scholarship

Mr. Michael Cavalcanti, a graduate of the Class of 1964, established this scholarship in 1981 to support an incoming freshman from the Rochester area who wished to pursue a college degree at Brockport. After spending his entire adult life as a leader in the business community in Rochester and in conjunction with his two brothers, Mr. Cavalcanti has re-named this scholarship and put a new focus on a student studying in the School of Business Administration & Economics.

Eligible students must

1. Have completed one year of study at SUNY Brockport and have a declared intent to major in one of undergraduate programs in the School of Business.
2. Demonstrate academic excellence with an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher at SUNY Brockport.
3. Demonstrate a commitment and potential for success in a career in the field of business as judged by the selection committee.

This scholarship will be credited to the recipient’s bill in the form of a non-tuition educational expense grant. It must be used for educational expenses and may not be received as cash.
