Richard J. and Joan S. Fenton Scholarship

Dr. Richard and Mrs. Joan Fenton established this endowed scholarship fund with the purpose of providing financial support and recognition to deserving undergraduate students. Both Dr. and Mrs. Fenton hope receiving this scholarship will encourage the student recipient to attend graduate school.

Students must:
1. Be matriculated in the School of Business & Management at SUNY Brockport at the undergraduate level.
2. Be registered as full-time students, possess sophomore or junior status at the time of selection, and intend to maintain full-time status for the entire academic year following selection. A rising junior is eligible to reapply for future consideration and may receive the scholarship a second time, if eligible and chosen.
3. Demonstrate academic excellence by possessing at least a 3.25 GPA, and as judged by the selection committee.
4. All applicants who are eligible based on the aforementioned criteria will be considered however preference will be provided to students who are majoring in economics.
5. With all other factors being equal, the student with the greatest financial need as informed by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) with guidance from the Foundation Scholarship Office, will be the recipient.

The financial assistance is in the form of a non-tuition educational expense grant that may be used to cover educational costs such as room, board or college fees. The award will be credited to the recipient’s bill during the semester(s) of the award period. The student must use this award for educational expenses at the College and may not receive the award in cash.
