HOW TO APPLY

There are two ways to be considered for Brockport Foundation Scholarships:

1. Auto-Match Opportunities: After submitting your General Application, you may automatically be matched to scholarships for which you are eligible.
2. Apply-To Opportunities: You may search for and apply directly to specific scholarship opportunities.

Important: You must submit the General Application before you can be considered for any scholarship opportunity.

1. Complete the General Application
Once you log in to the Scholarship Portal, you will be prompted to complete the General Application. The application includes:

• Biographical information
• Resume/CV information
• Four writing prompts
• An optional recommendation from a professional reference
If you choose to request a recommendation, you must first obtain your reference’s permission before providing their full name and email address. The Scholarship Office will then contact your reference directly with instructions for submitting a recommendation.

2. Complete Any Conditional Applications
Depending on your major, academic status, or other eligibility factors, you may be prompted to complete one or more Conditional Applications. These applications allow you to be considered for multiple scholarships with similar criteria.

3. Review Recommended Opportunities
After completing the General Application, you will be presented with Recommended Opportunities. Review these scholarships to determine your eligibility and submit applications for any opportunities that interest you.

4. Auto-Match Scholarships
For Auto-Match scholarships, no additional action is required. If you meet the eligibility requirements, you will automatically be considered.

5. Monitor Your Applications
Visit My Applications to:

• Review submitted applications
• Check application statuses
• Make edits to Apply-To opportunities before the applicable deadlines

6. Monitor Your References
Check the References section regularly to track the status of your recommendation requests. Be sure to send polite reminders to your reference(s) as needed to ensure recommendations are submitted before the deadline.

7. Search for Additional Scholarship Opportunities
After completing the General Application, we strongly encourage you to search for additional scholarship opportunities.
Do not rely solely on the Auto-Match feature or the Recommended Opportunities list. Many scholarships require additional information beyond the General Application and will not appear as Auto-Match opportunities.

To view the full list of available scholarships:

• Select Opportunities.
• Click the ‘Ours’ tab.

Carefully review scholarship descriptions and eligibility requirements to determine whether you qualify for additional opportunities. Some scholarships listed on the Ours tab require no further action beyond the General Application, while others may require additional materials.
